Echos of the past
Follow the path of
our forefathers along the historic Staunton to Parkersburg Turnpike (US 250).
Little has changed since the road was completed in the 1840s, linking the Shenandoah
Valley with the Virginia frontier and the Ohio River Valley.

May 1862. Stonewall Jackson routed Federal troops during the Battle of McDowell,

Hill.

A beautiful 65-foot red
spruce from Highland County graced the lawn lawn of the U.S. Capitol in 2004.
